Teide Astronomical Tour with Picnic – Stargazing Under the Night Sky

Spend an evening exploring both the science of astronomy and the night sky of Teide National Park. This approximately eight-hour experience combines a guided visit to the Teide Observatory with astronomical observation after dark. The afternoon begins at the observatory, where a specialist guide introduces the work carried out at this important astronomical site. You can learn about astrophysics, discover how the telescopes work and observe the Sun using portable solar telescopes. The experience then continues into Teide National Park. After sunset, the group heads to the area around the cable car base station at approximately 2,356 metres above sea level, where the night-sky observation takes place. A Starlight guide explains the stars and constellations visible that evening, while professional long-range telescopes are used to explore the night sky in greater detail. A picnic-style dinner can be included with this version. The documented menu includes a strawberry gazpacho shot, sweet-potato and salmon salad, traditional corn broth, brioche filled with roast pork, Flor cheese and lime-and-ginger mayonnaise, followed by chocolate cake. Water, beer, coffee and tea are included. A vegetarian picnic menu is also available, including Waldorf salad, traditional corn broth, brioche filled with vegetables and quail eggs and chocolate cake, together with water, beer, coffee and tea. The combination of the observatory, sunset, dinner and telescope observation makes this a particularly comprehensive astronomy experience.
