Step away from Tenerife's coastal resorts and discover the island's spectacular mountain landscape on a circular hiking route around Las Vegas and the famous Lunar Landscape. The experience combines rural scenery, pine forest, traditional paths and extraordinary volcanic formations created by erosion. The route takes you through the highlands around Las Vegas and towards Los Escurriales and the protected Lunar Landscape, where erosion has created unusual, almost otherworldly formations in the volcanic terrain. Along the way, the landscape changes between forest, open mountain terrain and agricultural areas, with impressive views across the southern part of Tenerife. The wider route network in this area connects Las Vegas with the Lunar Landscape, Vilaflor and the historic paths around Cruz de Tea and Madre del Agua. The landscape also includes traditional agricultural areas, old paths and some of the Canary Islands' characteristic pine forests.
