Explore a traditional banana plantation in southern Tenerife on a guided experience lasting approximately 75–90 minutes. Accompanied by an expert guide, you will walk through the plantation and learn about the cultivation of Canary Island bananas, the history of the farm and the agricultural traditions and rural life of Tenerife. The plantation covers approximately 8 hectares, with around 98% of the land dedicated to Canary Island banana cultivation. The remaining area is used for tropical fruit trees including mango, papaya and avocado. The farm grows the Canary Island banana varieties Gran Enana and Gruesa Palmera and combines traditional agricultural practices with integrated and sustainable production methods. During the guided visit, you will learn about the particular challenges of growing bananas in the volcanic environment of southern Tenerife, including the area's soil, water availability, strong sunshine and wind. The experience also explains the agricultural, historical and cultural importance of banana cultivation in the Canary Islands. The tour ends in the farm's traditional former agricultural building, which has been converted into a space for relaxation, workshops, exhibitions and tastings. A tasting of typical products from Tenerife is included, featuring organic banana, gofio and other handmade products. The tasting is part of the 75–90-minute experience. The guided tour is suitable for all ages and is accessible to people with reduced mobility. The route has seating areas where visitors can rest, and toilets are available at the end of the route. Free parking is available at the farm, and a public bus stop is approximately 50 metres away. The guided tour is available in English and Spanish, with French also available on Thursdays. Individual guided visits are normally offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with specific departure times depending on the season. The visit is by reservation, and it is recommended to arrive approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. The farm recommends booking at least 12 hours in advance. Transport to and from the activity: Not included. Visitors make their own way to the meeting point at the banana plantation in Las Galletas, Arona. Free parking is available at the entrance, and public buses serving the area stop approximately 50 metres from the farm.
