Leave the lights of the coast behind and discover Tenerife’s night sky from the high-altitude surroundings of Teide National Park. The astronomical observation takes place near the cable car base station at approximately 2,356 metres above sea level. At this altitude, the combination of elevation and relatively low light pollution provides excellent conditions for observing the stars. A specialist astronomy guide introduces the night sky and helps you identify stars and constellations visible during the evening. The experience goes beyond simple naked-eye stargazing, as professional long-range telescopes are used to observe astronomical objects in much greater detail. The exact start time changes throughout the year according to sunset, so the observation begins at a different time depending on the date. Transportation is not included in this specific astronomical observation experience, and guests must make their own way to the meeting point. Food and drinks are also not included. Because the observation takes place outdoors at high altitude after sunset, warm clothing is strongly recommended, even when temperatures at the coast are pleasant.
Explore the night sky above Teide National Park with a specialist astronomy guide and professional long-range telescopes.
